My general interest in physics is the general role of geometry and symmetry principles in physics in general and in gravitational physics in particular. In this very wide arena one has to be more focused in order to be able to make any research progress. Accordingly, my main fields of research are:

  • Gravitation Theories: General Relativity and its extensions. In particular: scalar-tensor theories, f(R) theories, Horndeski vector-tensor theories, Einstein-Proca theories. Second vs first-order formalism
  • Implications of Modified Gravity Theories in small scales: compact objects: Black Holes, boson stars and Q-balls, neutron stars. Semi localized objects: cosmic strings and flux tubes.
  • Implications of Modified Gravity Theories in cosmological scales: Cosmological solutions.
  • Physics in higher dimensions
